DOBERMAN / PLANT AND ATTACHMENT INNOVATION

Plant and Attachment Innovation

Doberman helps clients turn a difficult operating problem into a practical equipment brief. We work with contractors, manufacturers and specialist suppliers on plant selection, attachment development and methods that improve the whole job.

Start with the part of the job that is slowing progress

Material handling, repositioning or attachment changes can slow production even when the installation tool works well. We assess the complete sequence and site conditions before recommending a change.

Our contribution combines hands-on operating experience, practical methodology, equipment demonstration and supplier liaison. The manufacturer and competent designer establish the final engineering, compatibility and rated limits for a proposed conversion.

Develop a piling tool carrier

When developing an excavator-mounted piling system, consider the excavator before committing to a particular attachment. How closely the machine can work, the space needed for its rear end to turn, its support arrangement and sustained hydraulic performance can affect both the working area and the time spent repositioning.

We can help develop the brief for a versatile carrier and a suite of tools: side grip, pre-auger or leader, impact hammer and material-handling equipment. The excavator appendix in our piling equipment guide compares attachment connections and explains when higher-cost automatic systems may be justified.

Improve mechanical pile handling

Purpose-designed short forks with suitable spacing and hydraulic pack restraint offer a development route for handling sheet stacks with fewer manual interventions. A suitable removable tiltrotator may help alignment in confined areas. The complete load, its centre of gravity, retention and the machine’s accepted configuration determine the arrangement.

We define the handling task and representative loads for supplier assessment, aiming to reduce time spent rigging, changing tools and moving the machine.

Use forestry machines for remote piling logistics

Timber forwarders are promising base machines for supplying remote turbine, pylon and difficult-access sites with precast piles, steel sections, timber piles and reinforcement cages. Purpose-designed supports, restraints and lifting arrangements must suit each material.

Plan transfer from road transport, the off-road journey, unloading and handover to the piling machine. Carrying capacity, crane lifting capacity and any proposed piling duty are separate engineering questions. Explore the remote piling logistics options and our wetland equipment support.

From idea to practical trial

Agree the required outcome and constraints, brief the machine supplier and designer, obtain the relevant configuration and operating evidence, then commission and trial the solution against representative work. Doberman can support demonstration and early operation and help develop the client’s operator capability. Development concepts are progressed through this process before being offered as a rated working setup.

Bring us the operating problem

Send photographs or drawings you are authorised to share, the material and machine details, access limits and where time is being lost. We can help define the practical options and the next supplier or design discussion.
